Mental Health Within Drag Community

Bright colours, glitter, fabulousness – all sounds too familiar when you hear the word “drag”. What life journey does an individual take before they reach the stage? The mental hurdles along the way and stories have been explored by Kristina Gurova. Her work portrays the vulnerable side of those who had picked up their pieces along the way to become stronger than they ever were. Through the manipulation of the multi-exposure and by underlining in black and white, her visual research carries on by interviewing the drag queens and kings and documenting the moments in her work. Every image tells a story of those who have fought for their place in our world and carry on teaching others where true strength lies. Are you living your true self?
