Boots & Scoots is a project based around who wears the brand Dr Martens, the subculture that is featured in this project are mods along with their most prized possession, scooters. Dating back to 1970 the brand Dr Martens were worn by the British culture as a symbol of self-expression and are still worn in this manner by many people as the boot can be purchased in a variety of colours and patterns. With my dad being a part of the mod community, I was able to join him and his scooter club to a scooter meet in Knaresborough. Alongside this I researched colour signifiers and juxtaposition between colours and tones to make the boots stand out from a commercial point of view.
